short note

Metabolomics :-
is the large-scale study of small molecules, commonly known as metabolites, within cells, biofluids, tissues or organisms. Collectively, these small molecules and their interactions within a biological system are known as the metabolome."

What is meant by proteomics?
A proteome is the complete set of proteins expressed by an organism. The term can also be used to describe the assortment of proteins produced at a specific time in a particular cell or tissue type. The proteome is an expression of an organism's genome.

DNA chip - A DNA microarray is a collection of microscopic DNA spots attached to a solid surface. Scientists use DNA microarrays to simultaneously measure the expression levels of a large number of genes or to genotype multiple regions of the genome.

mutation is a change in a DNA sequence. Mutations can result from DNA copying mistakes made during cell division, exposure to ionizing radiation, exposure to chemicals called mutagens, or infection by viruses.

RNAi is short for “RNA interference” and it refers to a phenomenon where small pieces of RNA can shut down protein translation by binding to the messenger RNAs that code for those proteins.

VIGS-Virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) :-

is one of the reverse genetics tools for analysis of gene function that uses viral vectors carrying a target gene fragment to produce dsRNA which trigger RNA-mediated gene silencing.

Site-directed mutagenesis :-
is a molecular biology method that is used to make specific and intentional mutating changes to the DNA sequence of a gene and any gene products.

In genetic engineering, transposon tagging is a process where transposons (transposable elements) are amplified inside a biological cell by a tagging technique.

Genome editing :-
(also called gene editing) is a group of technologies that give scientists the ability to change an organism's DNA. These technologies allow genetic material to be added, removed, or altered at particular locations in the genome.

Protein–protein interactions (PPIs) :-
are physical contacts of high specificity establised between two or more protein molecules as a result of biochemical events steered by interactions that include electrostatic forces, hydrogen bonding and the hydrophobic effect.

 Yeast are single :-
cell eukaryotic microorganisms instrumental to winemaking, baking, and brewing since ancient times. The function of many proteins important in human biology were first discovered by studying their counterparts in yeast.

Two-hybrid screening :-
(originally known as yeast two-hybrid system or Y2H) is a molecular biology technique used to discover protein–protein interactions (PPIs) and protein–DNA interactions by testing for physical interactions (such as binding) between two proteins or a single protein and a DNA molecule, respectively.

Mass spectrometry :-
is an analytical tool useful for measuring the mass-to-charge ratio (m/z) of one or more molecules present in a sample. These measurements can often be used to calculate the exact molecular weight of the sample components as well.

Genomics
is the study of all of a person's genes (the genome), including interactions of those genes with each other and with the person's environment.
